(NDJ) – A two year old boy in Saudi Arabia has come to a gruesome end when he was squashed to death by a hospital bed.
The child apparently used the remote that operates the bed to move it about, make sections of the bed go up and down and tilt it.

The boy went to visit a relative at the hospital in Isha with his mom and dad. At the hospital, the boy slipped out from his relative’s room and entered an empty room where he found the remote and began pressing buttons on the unit.
The 2 year old reportedly made the bed twist and turn so fast that the iron cast bed toppled over and fell on the boy, killing him.
Hospital staff tried reanimating the child but to no avail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The parents of the child said they were completely unaware he had ventured off and had placed himself in harms way by playing with the hospital bed.
A spokesperson for the hospital called the incident a tragic accident that could have been avoided.
