Nissan has elevated the price of the 2013 GT-R by about $7,000. However, the car is still under $100,000 and will still thrash the majority of supercars without batting an eye.The price of the Nissan GT-R is incredible. It starts at $89,950. That price is really good considering the GT-R can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, as reported by AutoBlog. That is almost as fast as the fastest car on the road, the Bugatti Veyron. Customers will be getting an excellent deal at that price with the power and performance that comes with the GT-R.
There will be a rise in the price for the model next year, as reported by USA Today. The GT-R Black Edition is increasing from $95,100 to $106,320 while the base is going up from $89,950 to $96,280. There is a $1,000 destination fee on top of that. More than likely, the value of the yen against the dollar is the cause of this increase.
According to AutoWeek, the same 3.8-liter twin turbo V-6 will be found in the 2013 GT-R. There are changes that come with the brand new price though, even though the engine will still be made in a clean room with a master technician. Instead of getting 540 horsepower and 448 foot-pounds of torque, the customer will get 545 horsepower and 463 foot-pounds of torque.
There have been many changes to the regular Black Edition too. It now comes with a back-up camera and Bluetooth connectivity, as reported by Automobile Magazine. It also comes with a new gearbox that makes shifting better and improved airflow with updates to the front of the car. There is better suspension, all-wheel drive and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. There is even a new carbon fiber rear spoiler.
It is hard to find that much power in a car for that price. If a customer needs a change, they could get two new BMW 3 Series sedans for the same level of money though.
The fastest Porsche 911, the 911 Turbo S, produces about the same level of horsepower and goes from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.1 seconds and costs $160,700,. The Corvette ZR1 is half a second slower than the GT-R and costs $111,600. The Audi R8 GT, with the V-10, costs $149,000. The only Mercedes capable of getting from 0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds is the SLS AMG, which costs $189,600, almost $100,000 over the GT-R, and is almost a full second slower in getting from 0 to 60.
