Your background doesn't matter when you want to build a successful network marketing business. Many times, people look at the hand life dealt them, and think they don't have what it takes. So they stay in their current job or suffer through "Corporate America". However, we don't have to play with the hand life dealt us. Red Blaik says, "The champion makes his own luck."
You can build a successful network marketing business no matter what your background. There are no specific resume qualifications, and you don't have the dreadful interview process. Your background means nothing in MLM! The secret formula is taking a genuine interest in helping others solve their problems. Just like in a card game to need to have the right hand to stay in the game. The winning hand for network marketing is to have a hand with each suit to be a well-balanced leader.
1. Most importantly, you must have 'heart'. This means you must truly care about the success of others. Network marketing isn't about you; it is about helping others meet their goals. Zig Ziglar says, "If you help others get what they want, then you can have everything you want." Offer your team valuable training. We offer monthly training meetings in our home focused on the most recent challenges for our representatives. We also offer extension training for social network strategies: Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube are a couple examples.
2. Second, be honest with yourself! Call a spade as you see it, a spade. Speak your mind about the things you want from network marketing. Write your goals down and refer to them every morning. Never waiver or doubt your ability. Negativity is a distraction, and is never productive. This industry isn't easy, and you will have many challenges. Start training your mindset as this will be the biggest challenge of all. Lean on your mentor for support. If your mentor isn't available, seek out leadership and training through a great resource, MyLead System Pro (MLSP).
3. Create a "club" mentality. Develop a team and work with the motivated people. In the beginning, I made too many phone calls to those that did nothing. I can give all the necessary support, but it is a waste of time if they aren't motivated. Now, my team calls to tell me their weekly goals and asks for help when needed. Dedicate your time to train the ones that deserve it, and stay approachable to those that work on a slower time schedule.
4. Lastly, look for those "diamonds in the rough". When you find those two or three superstars, your business will skyrocket like fireworks on the fourth of July. It is better to have a handful of rock stars instead of thousands of people that do nothing. Remember, every network marketing superstar had to have someone present them the opportunity. Never prejudge by thinking they wouldn't be interested. Haven't you ever surprised yourself? Everyone has a need! How do you know you can't help solve their need if you don't ask?
You can do anything with a positive attitude, long-term commitment, and personal development. If you don't have all the card suits in your network marketing hand, don't fold. You won't know if the next card in the deck is the one you need, unless you are still in the game.
