Accepting that your “little babies” aren’t your little babies anymore isn’t easy. There are a times in life where parents just want to catch their breath, because they realize their kids ae growing up. Their first day of kindergarten, their trip to the ivf Hamilton Ontario for a shot, their first day of high school, their first date… The list goes on. However, most parents can also attest that the high school years are some of the scariest. Your child isn’t a child anymore but they aren’t quite an adult. You aren’t ready to treat them like they are grown, but that’s how they want to be treated. When you take your daughter to the infertility Hamilton Ontario doctor center for her first appointment with a woman doctor, you feel as if she’s all grown up. Throughout their teenage years, you are going to have a lot of moments where you will feel awkward, or angered, or just confused. Here are some tips to help you deal with this.

First of all, don’t be too over bearing. When they become teenagers, some parents turn on the automatic stalk button. They assume their kids are going to be tempted to do all of these stupid and dangerous things. This will only make them view you as an enemy. The best way to keep them from making bad decisions during this times is to be close to them; having them hate you is a big step in the wrong direction. Don’t distrust them unless they give you a reason to do so. Talk to them about the issues you are worried about so hopefully they will gain a better perspective on them. Get to know your child and their friends, odds are you will be able to tell just from that whether or not you need to worry.

Also, don’t forget that you were once too a teenager. Some parents may have been perfect kids, but most wouldn’t let their kids to half of the things they did. It may be unconventional, but doesn’t it seem silly to not let them do things you did? You might not want to tell them all of your stories and encourage them to do the same things, but be rational with them. Stressing safety should be a number one concern.

When it comes to your teenagers love life, it really is best to let them make their own course. Preventing them from dating or hanging out with the opposite sex until they turn sixteen or eighteen will only hurt their social skills. Dating is a natural part of being young, and, you can’t deny it is purposeful when there are so many couples that marry their high school sweet hearts. Now, don’t dwell on that and let it freak you out. Odds are the boy or girl your child brings home wont end up being your son in law, but you never know. As with all the other issues, communication is key. Telling them no won’t make for an easy ride.
