The arrival of winter heralds festivities, celebrations, and lots of dressing up. It is during the cold months that fashion trends and hairstyles are tested to their limits, given the combination of stressful activities and uncooperative weather. You need to step up your hair care regimen to meet the demands of the season regardless of how well your hair reacts to the cold.
There are men and women who barely experience any hair care challenges during winter but there are those who really get hit hard. From dryness, frizziness, hair static, dandruff, split ends, hair breakage and excessive hair fall, the list of problems could just go on and on. Most hair experts would suggest that you go to a salon for treatment for any or most of these problems. The problem though is that during winter time, where holidays are near, people are already juggling too many appointments that a trip to the salon may be impossible to do.
No Nonsense Hair Care Advice
When the split ends start showing during the winter do you go into hiding? Do you wear hats and scarves all the time to hide your hair? If this scenario is all too familiar to you, you re one of the many who suffer from hair problems during the cold season. The good news is that there are plenty of cold weather hair problem remedies you can do right from your own home.
One way to improve the overall health of your hair during the cold months is to use a humidifier. This simple device adds moisture to the air in your immediate environment. Just by exposing your hair to more moisture, you can already prevent dryness and split ends. Moisture is also good for your scalp as this prevents the formation of icky and embarrassing dandruff.
Natural Hair Care Fixes for the Winter
During the cold months, you need to use moisturizers and conditioners that soften and revive hair. You can use your favorite conditioners or prepare these quick and easy moisturizing fixes.
Rose floral water infused with jojoba oil and Vitamin E. You would need about 250 ML of rose floral water and 10 drops or so of Vitamin E Oil. (You can break open a vitamin E capsule for this purpose). For jojoba oil, you would need about 15 ml of this substance. Combine the floral water and oils and apply evenly onto warm wet hair and scalp. Massage your scalp gently as you do this. Let stand for a few minutes before rinsing with shampoo and water. The effect is soft, shiny and split ends free hair.
You can also do a clover honey masque by massaging pure clover honey onto your hair. Make sure that the hair is covered from root to tip. Seal the masque in with plastic wrap or a shower cap and leave on for about 15 to 20 minutes. Shampoo and rinse with cold water afterwards.
Giving your hair the care it deserves during the cold season will help you have better hair for the holidays. Naturally healthy and attractive hair is so much easier to style and accessorize. Remember: problem hair is something that you don t want to get this Christmas.
