Gout is a type of metabolic arthritis which is caused by the congenital disorder of uric acid metabolism. The acute and the unbearable pain make the disease a critical one. The shocking matter is that this is the single most frequently recorded disease in the history of medical world. In most of the cases to be brief in almost 75 of cases the first target area of the attack of gout is the big toe or the big toes. But this is not necessarily the only area where the first attack occurs. The other joint areas like the wrists, knees, hips, arms, fingers, heels and even the spinal areas can be the affected areas by the gout attack.

Gout is a sever e and painful disease. The cause of the disease is the accumulation of the uric acid in the body. Mostly our body gets rid of the uric acid through the system. But when there is excess accumulation of the uric acid the uric acid crystals start to be formed and deposited in the joints, tendons and in the surrounded tissues causing the acute pain of gout. Sometimes the crystals grow in large and cause fissures in the skin and lets out the chalky white substance from the fissures. These cause extreme pain and make the skin vulnerable and sensitive. The main symptoms of the gout are the acute pain, the sensitive skin, the red, swollen and the warm skin in the affected areas. Sometimes the attack of gout can be so severe that the patients cannot even tolerate the slight touch of the blanket. The attack of gout can last for a few hours but some severe cases of gout can even last for a few days.

Gout has been around for centuries and there are varieties of remedies available for treating the gout problems. For the timely and proper cure the patient is needed to be diagnosed with the problem at an earlier stage. Once diagnosed the patient should be under the proper guidance of a doctor. The doctor will recommend the right food diet for the patients.

Right diet or the ideal diets are really important when it comes to managing the gout problems. As the main reason of the gout is the increase of the uric acid level in the blood reducing the uric acid level is important in treating the gout. Almost all the foods cause the uric acid in our body but some foods are really high purine rich foods and these can effective increase the level of uric acid in the blood. The ideal food diet for the gout patients should completely avoid these high purine foods. The idea diet will ensure the foods with low purine compound and it will also include the foods that will help in reducing the uric acid level in the blood.

Some foods and beverages like the organ meats like kidney, liver, brain of animals, the beef, pork, lamb, cod, stout, seafood, selfish, cauliflower, mushrooms, peas, dried beans, spinach, beer, alcohol should be completely avoided because these are high purine foods. The low purine foods like the milk and the milk products, the green and leafy vegetables, the cereal, pasta, noodles, eggs, fruits specially the cherries, berries, blueberries, strawberries, lemon juice should be taken on regular basis. Cherries or lemon juice can effectively reduce the level of uric acid from the body. Taking plenty of water every day is yet another important part of the idea food diet for the gout patients.
