Desktop Wallpaper: Simple Steps How to You Can Change Your Wallpaper

Are you tired of looking at your same old desktop? If you are, then maybe it is about time for you to give it a new look. And doing just that is not really hard to do. Your options can include bringing your actual monitor to a customizing shop and ask them to give it a new color, tinker with downloadable desktop themes or if you want a quick and inexpensive way, you can always change your desktop wallpaper.
Now if you are not the “techy” type, you do not have to worry because changing your wallpaper does not entail deep computer knowledge. If your operating system is Windows 95, 98, 2000 or XP you just have to:
1. Right click on your desktop.
2. From the menu, select properties.
3. A small window with four tabs (Themes, Desktop, Appearance and Settings) will open. Click on Desktop.
4. On that tab, you will see the available Windows wallpaper for you to use. If you nothing there strikes your fancy, you can always use your own photo as your desktop wallpaper. To do this, simply click on the Browse button. Locate your file and that is it, you have a new wallpaper!
Depending on the size of your photo, you may need to adjust some settings, like put the photo on the center of your screen, tile it or stretch it to get the look that you want.
On the other hand, if you are using a Mac, you may have to remember different sets of instructions depending the platform of your computer. To give you an idea, here are the steps you need for Mac OS 10 and OS X
For Macs that are on OS 10 Platform:
1. First select the photo that you would want to use from your files.
2. Open the file.
3. Click on the picture and drag the item to your desktop.
4. Press and hold the control key.
5. Choose a blank spot on your desktop and click on it.
6. Choose “Change Desktop Background” on the menu that would pop up and
7. Search for your picture and that is it.
For Macs on OS X:
1. Start with clicking on the Apple icon right on your desktop.
2. Choose “System Preferences” from the menu.
3. Open the “Desktop and Screen Saver” icon by clicking on it.
4. Make sure that you are in the “Desktop Tab”
5. On the left side of the screen, you will see a directory that contains your photos. From there, navigate to where your file is and once you found it, click on the picture to make it your wallpaper and voila!
Those are some easy steps right? So do not allow yourself to be stuck to the boring desktop you have now. Even if you feel that your photos are not excellent enough to become your desktop wallpaper, you can always go to a free site that allows you to view, select and download premade wallpapers that can fit any screen resolution perfectly. You just have to go online, and check your options.
