DALLAS – John F Kennedy, 34th President of the United States was assassinated on November 22 1963 in Dallas Texas. His murder has always been clouded by a mysterious veil and murder conspiracy theories about his death have been plenty.
Here are six of the most prevailing controversial murder theories still being told today:
1. The Soviet Union was behind the assassination:
Nikita Khrushchev, who was the Premier of Russia in 1963, had made it clear he wanted JFK ‘out of the way’ after he humiliated Russia with the Cuban missile crisis, which forced the Soviet Union to dismantle its missile base in Cuba.
Although the US withdrew its missiles pointed towards the Soviet Union in Turkey and Italy; it did so quietly, making it look like Russia suffered defeat.
Lee Harvey Oswald’s wife was Russian and he himself had visited the Soviet Union.
A CIA branch wanted Kennedy gone because he reportedly did not address the fight against communism according to their wants. Additionally, Kennedy made CIA tempers fly when he said: “I want to crush the CIA in a thousand pieces and let them be blown away by the wind.”
The CIA could have made it possible for John F Kennedy to be driven through Dallas in an open roof (convertible) limousine and was escorted at slow speed through the targeted shooting area.
On its website the CIA states it had no involvement with Kennedy’s assassination and left winged Europeans and American media spread that rumor.2. The CIA had something to do with JFK’s death:3. Fidel Castro ordered JFK’s assassination:
Fidel Castro, leader of Cuba, reportedly ordered John F Kennedy’s assassination. JFK’s brother Bobby, has always insisted on that theory. Castro reportedly was not happy about the way Kennedy had dealt with the Soviet Union and wanted revenge.
An investigation committee has never found proof however that Cuba had anything to do with Kennedy’s murder.
4. The Mafia got rid off Kennedy:
John F Kennedy made no qualms about the fact that he wanted to crack down on the Mafia. In his corner he had his brother Robby Kennedy, head prosecutor, to assist him with this task.
The Mafia was earning substantial financial gains in Cuba until Castro came along. He closed all casinos and gambling bars, cutting off the Mafia income. Reportedly, the Mafia wanted to work with the CIA to overthrow the Castro regime but Kennedy did not want to cooperate with them.
The theory stayed alive all these years because Jack Ruby, who shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald, reportedly had ties with the Mafia.5. Vice-President Lyndon-Johnson wanted Kennedy gone:
Lyndon-Johnson, who was John F Kennedy’s running mate, was reportedly jealous that Kennedy became US president while he wanted to hold that position and thus ordered Kennedy’s assassination.
Johnson expressed he worried Kennedy would also not want him for his running mate again during the next presidential election.
Johnson was also involved in a slue of scandals he tried desperately to keep under wraps. All investigations into those scandals stopped completely when Lyndon-Johnson became US President. 18 percent of Americans believe Johnson had something to do with JFK’s assassination.
6. Extra Terrestrials killed Kennedy:
Probably the most far fetched theory of all but none the less one that continues to linger is that ETs ordered John F Kennedy’s assassination because Kennedy was ‘too nosy’ and wanted to know the secrets to flying an UFO. Kennedy reportedly ordered secret investigations to uncover the secrets of UFOs.
In a memo written by John F Kennedy to the CIA Kennedy reportedly asks for all documents on file pertaining UFO information and a request to talk about the content of the documents.
That memo, which has never been certified as authentic, was written by John F Kennedy 10 days before he was assassinated.
